WHAT IS SMP?

SMP stands for Scalp Micro Pigmentation.

It is a method of depositing pigments into the dermal layer of the skin on the scalp, which replicates hair follicles. It creates the appearance of tiny hair follicles to restore the look of a fuller head of hair. SMP is an immediate solution to hair loss, there is no invasive surgery process, no scarring, and no down time.

For many clients, cutting / shaving the hair short gives the best results when having SMP.

SMP gives you your hairline back.

3

Cover any surgery scars

A way to cover any surgery scars from past procedures. For example, if a client has previously had a hair transplant procedure which brought a few complications, SMP can be carried out in order to help camouflage any scars and imperfections.

How it works

You will come in for an initial consultation including a medical questionnaire. We will discuss the options available to you and once agreed, a patch test is done – to establish the correct shade of pigment and to test for an allergic reaction. Although the effects of SMP can be noticed immediately, for optimum results, around 2-3 sessions are required with a practitioner. Each session is carried out within a sterile, comfortable environment ensuring that the patient’s experience is a positive one, meaning clients are assured that their results will be of a high quality.

Your first session will generally be a week after your patch test and 7-14 days apart.

In the first session the hairline is drawn on and agreed by you. Then the entire area which is being worked on will have the first session of SMP

The second session will be to add density and detail and the treatment will be fully blended into the existing hairline by this stage.

The final session is to touch up and go over any areas which need extra attention.
